Sometimes the sweetest testimonies come from the most unexpected places. Today we’re honored to share the story of our friend from Utah — a woman of strength, humor, and resilience who proudly calls herself the Utah Nutcracker.

Her Story:

For years, addiction had a grip on her life. But five years ago, she began a new rhythm: sitting down with pecans, cracking shells by hand, and finding therapy in the steady work of breaking open what once seemed impossible.

Armed with simple hand tools — no fancy machines, just grit and determination — she turned pecan-cracking into both a business and a breakthrough. Each shell broken became a small victory. Each nut gathered became a reminder that life could be whole again.

The Song:

We were so moved by her journey that we wrote a song in her honor. It celebrates not just her love for pecans, but the way God used those nuts and that daily practice to bring healing and hope. It’s a story of redemption hidden in plain sight — one pecan at a time.

Our Honor:

To us, she’s more than just a friend — she’s living proof of country strength and God’s grace. When she cracks pecans, we see perseverance. When she sells them, we see provision. And when she shares her story, we see a testimony that deserves to be heard.

Tammy Blake — the Utah Nutcracker — with the simple hand tools she uses to shell every pecan by hand.
“The Utah Nutcracker herself — a country girl with grit, grace, and a smile as steady as the mountains.”
To the Utah Nutcracker: we salute you, we celebrate you, and we thank you for letting us share your journey. May your hands stay strong, your harvests stay full, and your heart always know the joy of victory. And the story keeps on cracking wide open — because right now, Tammy is gearing up to work on two full bushels of pecans. A friend of ours will be picking them up here in Texas and sending them straight to her in Utah. Just like that, one more thread is woven into this beautiful tapestry: faith, friendship, and a whole lot of pecans. 💛💛 Snap on, friends — and crack open the good life.
